Egypt, an emerging geography in the Middle East

Egypt is a key emerging location in the Middle East for outsourcing related work. It has a relatively small population of around 85 million though the literacy rate is around 73 percent. One of the key positives for the country is the educational infrastructure which is comparable to the developing world standards.

Egypt has a competitive wage structure as compared to India and other such emerging locations and also a favorable attrition climate. Due to the lack of availability of quality talent, hiring is the toughest in the product development domain.

In terms of talent numbers, Egypt has close to 14,500 employees in IT services with software product development strength at around 3000. It has miniscule hardware product development talent. The BPO and tech Support talent are both around 11,000.
