R&D Globalization Council - Chapter 2.0, is aimed at identifying the current challenges of the Indian R&D industry and in helping the India centers articulate prudent strategies of growth for years to come. Today’s changing economic climate, increasing scale of operations, and the ever-growing competition in the industry demand innovative strategies. Despite the current economic condition, and a marked slowdown in the growth rate of the overall IT industry, Zinnov strongly believes that the long-term potential of the Product R&D industry is robust.
The year 2007-08 witnessed a shift in key focus areas of organizations doing R&D related work in India. R&D offshoring in India, which initially started only for cost savings and access to talent pool, has undergone a paradigm shift towards innovation and local market focus. There is an increased focus on competency creation, organizational alignment, product/ business ownership, and productivity initiatives.
Keeping these aspects in mind, the charter for Zinnov’s R&D Globalization Council for 2009-10, is to focus on four important aspects, viz. Operational efficiency, Competency creation, Innovation and Global leadership for MNC R&D centres in India.
